Welcome to the Garden City Yangon.
Arrive by either morning or afternoon flight to Yangon International Airport. Our representative will greet you with welcome gifts, including a traditional Shan bag, postcard & map of Myanmar. Then, transfer to hotel. Here you may take the time you need to rest after your long flight. We will retur to Yangon for a full day of sightseeing at the end of the tour.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to airport for flight to Bagan. Upon arrival you will be taken to Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of later Myanmar stupas (a dome-shaped Buddhist shrine). Then to Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi Temple to view its fine mural paintings of Jataka scenes (depicting the various stories of the Buddha's life). After that , transfer to hotel for check-in.
Afternoon sightseeing, the tour continues with visits to the lacquerware industry where you can study traditional production of Myanmar lacquerware. Then, enjoy Manuha Temple with its gigantic Buddha images inspired by a captive king's impression of his life in prison a thousand years ago. Then, visit Nanpaya, an early-style temple with the finest stone carvings. Although it has spotlights installed, it would be safer to bring your own flashlight as the electricity supply can be shut-off from time to time.
In the evening you will be visiting the Ananda Temple, an architectural masterpiece resembling a Greek Cross.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transfered to the airport for flight to Mandalay. On arrival to Tada-Oo International Airport, you will be escorted to the famous Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the most sacred Buddha images in Mandalay. Then, makee a short visit to the gold foil-making cottage industry. Check-in at your hotel, followed by afternoon sightseeing that begins with Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings. Then, proceed to Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's biggest book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures. The tour continues to Mandalay Hill, a vantage point known for its panoramic view of the city and spectacular sunsets.
It is worth taking the 30 minute stroll up the hill to enjoy panoramic views from different locations. Return can be made by car or by tuk-tuk as there is also a car track by the base of elevator just before the platform.
Early morning transfer to airport for flight back to Yangon. Arrive at Yangon airport and transfer to your hotel. Your exciting sightseeing tour of Yangon begins with Nagar Glass factory where you can experience old methods of making glass figures by experienced artisans. Then, continue to Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda to see the colossal reclining Buddha. After that, enjoy a short stop around the Sule pagoda city center to see the bustling traffic and proceed to China town for an evening stroll. In the late evening, head off to Shwedagon Pagoda, which offers a remarkable atmosphere with spectacular colors. Overnight in Yangon.
After breakfast, sightseeing in Yangon includes visits to some major highlights like Gaba Aye (World Peace) pagoda and Mahapasana Cave. Then transfer to airport for international departure.
